Hi,
i am hoping someone could help me, find out where my Grandad's sister is buried , I know her name was Hannah Thomas, she was born 1904 in oldham or royton Lancashire, and died 1906 of measles, I have her burial Date as 24/11/1906 Lancashire, her parents were Joseph & Edna Thomas.
My Grandad Arthur was born 2 years after Hannah died. he was born 24/11/1908, by 1911 Joseph Edna & Arthur moved to Gwespyr in North wales, and if there was any way i could find a photo of her headstone, as I don't know if she was buried with another family, I know her parents & her brother where buried in North Wales,,
Thsnk you in Advance for any help .

She was buried 27th November 1906 at Royton Cemetery
The record is on FamilySearch including the image which gives grave number
Make sure you get the next image too as it is continued.
-
Deceased Online has the burial date as 24th but is 27th on image.
Grave contains one other, details available to buy, burial register scan is presumably the same as on FamilySearch.
Ignore this, wrong person

Oldham Council's Burial Registers show the other occupants of the grave...8 in total.
Eric.
-
The burial on Deceased On-Line appears to be a different Hannah....died in Bolton, with very similar dates.
Eric.

The birth of Hannah Thomas, Oldham 1903 shows her mother’s name as Worthy.
The others in the grave are all named Worthy.
Here is the site https://adt.oldham.gov.uk/BacasWeb/

Hi Heywood,

Zoe
Yes, if you just enter her name, you get a choice - go to her death date. Click on her name you get her details and click on the grave number, you get the other people.
You can then click on those people for their ages, and addresses.
It is a really useful site.

so there are 8 Worthy family in that grave ?? meaning all related to Zoe - Hannah ??
-
That’s right and almost all are babies which is really sad.
They have mother’s name of Toft and look to be the children of Joseph and Edna Worthy. The adult deaths are also their children.
Hannah Thomas mmn Worthy looks to be the child of Joseph and Edna Thomas. (Coincidence of first names).

Hi Heywood .
I put in the details but no matches found, obviously i am doing something wrong, do i need to register to view on that site, sorry for the silly questions!
-
Hi Heywood,
I have found it! that is really sad, to lose so many, so these would be the children of my great great grandparents, great great grandparents being Joseph & Edna Worthy, her maiden name Toft.
Thank you for your help

I will try to get to the cemetery to see if there is a headstone. It’s blustery and rainy at the moment so bear with me. :)
-
Thank you so much Heywood,
-
Zoe-Hannah,
I went to the cemetery but sadly could not find the grave. I took a photo of the area where I think the grave should be. As you can see there are missing headstones and there is a notice of ongoing work to remove dangerous headstones, so if there was one, it might have fallen into disrepair.

Hi Heywood,
Thank you so much for going to the cemetery for me. that was really kind of you, and i really appreciate it, and i appreciate the photo,
looking through the list of who was in the graves and the ages, its quite sad, their mother was buried with them no father, i wonder where Joseph was buried, it lists his wife being in position 8.
Kind regards
Zoe

There is a burial 10th December 1941
Joseph Worthy, 80yrs.
He is buried at Chadderton cemetery in the same grave as Smith Saxon who died 28yrs in 1909.
There are just the two persons named.
-
Hi Heywood,
i think i have found the burial for Joseph Worthy, 10/12/1941 in Chadderton Cemetery, as i am not familiar with the area of Lancashire, could you tell how far from where Hannah and the Worthy family buried to where Hannah's grandfather Joseph is buried, there is another one listed but i have no idea who he could be

Hi Heywood we must have been typing at the same time,

There is a Crossley Street Chadderton but I think he was living in Crossley Street Shaw.
If you look at a map, you can see Royton, Chadderton and Shaw -all now part of Oldham.
