using good old Google Translate...
Would anyone be able to translate this tombstone into English?

is it Hindi ? I can sound out many of the words which sound Celtic, Irish or Western Isles which have the same Indo-European root words as Indian languages. The months come up in Google Translate. It might take a bit of retyping into phrases and inputting into Google Translate.

It outfoxes Google Translate ... words I've entered have come up as , Filipino, Corsican, Catalan, Irish Gaelic, Scots Gaelic, Japanese and Hindi. However, buried + a date is clearly seen all the way down the bottom of the obelisk. Knowing the location would help. Is it Bretagne ? Or the Crimea? or some other Conflict Zone possibly ? Malta is a possibility as their own language is a mixture but mainly derived from Africa, but where is it?

The language is Irish, written in the formal classical style. Carrycowan (Carrowcowan) is mentioned on the gravestone. That’s near Ballymena Co. Antrim.

May the most Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on the soul of Henry [O'Looney] who died 2nd April 1901.... and Sybil Carey[Ní Chiardha]his wife who died on 26th March 1901....and on the soul of his son Henry junior [O'Looney] M.E., solicitor/lawyer [fear dlí] who died 27th July 1898.
And on the soul of Fr. Dónal [O'Looney] D.D., the oldest son, who died 15th November 1911,
who was a professor in Maynooth College for fifteen years.... and on the soul of Fr Cathal[Charles]
[O'Looney] S.P., who erected this tombstone, and who died 30th October 1935.

Not a reply, but a correction by myself. I used ' O'Looney ' as an English version/translation for the surname, without studying the top of the memorial ! More common in the north of Ireland as an English version of the old Irish name is ' O'Loan '. (Some Irish names have several versions, when it comes to translating/and historical use).

That is seanchló, the old Irish font. The inscription also uses older spellings and word forms that were used before the language was standardised.
