G'day All,
I had my 3rd Great Grandfather, William Dawes, die of consumption 25th November 1875. The health records were removed by NSW Health before closing.
Who would I contact to find out more ? Tried the Carcoar Hospital Museum to no avail.
Hooroo for now,
Joe

Hi Joe from Junee :D
If the hospital had retained the records from that era, then I suggest you contact NSW Health by email to ask them where their archives for Carcoar Hospital circa 1875 are , and what the protocol is for gaining access ... sometimes there can be officialdom blockages to overcome .... likely any extant records would be in storage , likely not fully catalogued .. likely at Kingswood along with other NSW government archives, and likely in a deteriorated condition prior to delivery to Kingswood. If so, Kingswood would likely need time to access fragility etc .... sometimes the general public cannot be given direct access.
