Burial at Kirk Patrick, 21st March 1918. Aged 55 years.
Address given as Knockaloe Camp - the Internment Camp.

He is unlikely to have fought in the war. His service in the Welsh Regiment was in all probability in a home based garrison battalion many of which formed the basis of the Royal Defence Corps.
One of their tasks was the guarding of POW and internment camps which would explain the Isle of Man.

The answer to your original question is: Yes!
The UK Government at the time considered the Isle of Man as "theirs". So Home
BUT the Isle of Man has never been part of UK, GB, or England! So Away!
KG - a proud Manx Resident ;D ;D ;D
