Does anyone else remember these from the late 1960's?
There was a whole series covering a huge range of historical events. I remember I had one of the Armada and another of London around the time of the Great Fire. Both had a lot of facsimile documents which really piqued my interest in history.

Yes we had them in the library where I worked for many years. They were around later than the 60s. A blast from the past!

In our family we had to make do with I Spy books.

Should've joined the library. ;D

I had a Battle of Britain one.

Yes. Not something I would have remembered without the prompt.
-
WE had a couple - Alfred the Great, Elizabeth l and possibly the Gunpowder Plot if I remember correctly.
-
Think I had one on the English Civil War with a copy of King Charles' death warrant
-
I had forgotten all about them, but was looking on the history section of a secondhand book site the other day and there were a few for sale.
I hadn't realised they covered so many topics.

They were brilliant! I had the Shakespeare one

We had a similar thing here in Canada...in 1971 history class we had to make our own as a project. A friend and I chose to do the history of the town we went to school in and got a perfect mark, much to our surprise, perfect marks not given out freely in those days. It was a lot of fun to do! I also used them as a teacher later on, but can’t remember what they were called. Any Canadians remember?

Yes! They were truly brilliant. Honestly, I think they inspired all my subsequent interest in history, and especially in archives. If it wasn't for the Jackdaw folders I would never have become our de facto family archivist.
I see there are still American Jackdaws. I wish we still had ours in the UK.
