Hi, Just wondered if anyone was aware as to how much people moved around Carmarthenshire to live in the 1800's.  Trying to trace a John Hopkins b 1829 married Margaret Rees b 1829. He ended up in Llangafelach, I've found someone on the cenus in 1841 aged 12 in Llangwnnor.  Wondering how likely this is to be?

Industrial Revolution opened new opportunities, so people moved, mine went from Llandybie to Llangyfelach and Bridgend. So it is possible.....there is a quote seen, stating that Wales had more immigration in the 1800 than USA!

21 Jan 1850 parish church of Llangyfelach
John Hopkins full age bach collier Penvillia father Evan Hopkins collier
Margaret Rees full age spinster Penvillia father Morgan Rees collier
both marked, witnesses Thomas Davies & John Rees both signed.

If this is the correct family in 1851

John gives his place of birth as Llangyfelach
Possible non-conformist record for John born 26 Feb 1830, baptism 4 July 1830 at Lower Trinity Calvinistic Methodist Chapel. It notes Mary's maiden name as Jones.

Possible 1841 census for John with father Evan
