There is an 1881 census record of a Thomas Stitt living with his parents John and Johann at Common Wynd, Sanquhar, Dumfriesshire, Scotland

There is a birth record in Scotland's People

STITT
THOMAS
M
1876

You would need credits to view the details.

Thomas is still in Scotland in the 1891 and 1901 census records. The 1901 has him married to a Thomasina and with a daughter Mary J B living at 1st Floor, 140, High Street, Sanquhar, Dumfriesshire.

Thomas is a coal miner.

Birth record of Mary on Scotland's People
