Title: WILKINSON Missing in 1881, 1891
Post by: tenezledroit on Saturday 04 April 20 12:51 BST (UK)
Good Afternoon. I'm having difficulty locating the following chap in the 1881 & 1891 censuses:

James WILKINSON, born 1838 in Drayton St Leonard, Oxon. Have found him in other records as follows:

Born 1838, Abingdon District
Baptised 28/10/1838, Drayton
1841 Drayton, Oxon bc 1839
1851 Drayton, Oxon bc 1839
1861 Drayton, Oxon bc 1839
1871 Drayton, Oxon bc 1833
1881 ?
1891 ?
1901 Dorchester on Thames, Oxon bc 1839
1911 Abingdon, Oxon bc 1841
1921 - -
Died 1923 Abingdon, Oxon
aged 88, bc 1835

Can anyone help?

Kind regards,

Steve

Hi,

He was an unmarried man throughout his life, to my knowledge. The 1901 and 1911 censuses state he was still unmarried. His occupation was farm labourer.

Thanks,

Steve

No obvious sightings in those years  :-\

2 of his brothers are together but no James.

He doesn't stray far from home does he so should be local but can't see him.

Yes, I'm completely at a loss with this. I've tried travel records too, but can't find him anywhere..
