Long Shot. Trying to track down a woman who was an active member of the Communist party in the 1930s and also involved with a speaker at Speakers Corner. Won't go into names at this stage as this is for a friend but is there anywhere you can point us to find a list if such a thing exists. Not holding out much hope but have looked it up and see there was not a huge membership. Thank you for reading.

You can read free the above document but pay to download it. I am not an authority on the subject but I would have thought that any organization would be unlikely to publish or keep records of its members. Try the same question in 2020 for any political party and see how far it goes. Only being a member of the dominant German Party and living in Britain during WW2 would have caused a problem.

You could also try the records of MI5 available at The National Archives, especially those in the KV 2 series (communists and suspected communists).
