Ruth Brown, my g.g.g. grandmother married James Turner 29th. January 1825 in Bridgwater and she died 11th. June 1860 in Bridgwater. The 1841 and 1851 census's say she was born in Bridgwater. I can find no info on her at all. Any help would be much appreciated.

Closest I can find is a baptism in Tintinhull for a Ruth Brown 9 May 1803, mother Ruth Brown.

Hi Newbabe,
There is also two births & Christenings for Ruth BROWN both registered at Shepton Mallet.
1. Ruth BROWN born 6th March 1797 & Christened on the 3rd June 1797, parents John & Ann BROWN.
2. Ruth BROWN born 6th January (yr not given) christened 24th April 1810, parents Charles & Esther. Both of these events are at St Peter & Paul Shepton Mallet.
I have no idea how far Shepton Mallet & Bridgewater are from each other, would Bridgewater events be registered at Shepton Mallet ?
Cheers
Geoff

Just in case it helps, the marriage says both otp, bachelor/spinster, and witnesses Robert HAYMAN and Mary Ann POLE (or COLE). Groom and Mary Ann sign with "x".

Thank you Maddy and Geoff. I think Shepton Mallet and Tintinhull are each probably about the same distance from Bridgwater (which is close to Taunton). It is very frustrating when you cannot confirm beyond a shadow of a doubt which leads are correct.
Thanks again
