Title: Missing Joseph Priestnall marriage circa 1819 Manchester
Post by: George1978 on Thursday 27 February 20 18:21 GMT (UK)
Hi

I don't suppose anyone has any thoughts on who the Mary was that Joseph Priestnall was married to. They had a series of children baptised at Manchester Collegiate Church in William 1820 Elizabeth 1820 Joseph 1828  and Hannah 1936. Joseph himself was born in 1798 and shows up later in the 1861 census living in Sheffield, which also shows he was born in Salford and a clog maker. I kind of think the marriage record must have got mistranscribed or something which is why I can't find it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

George

Only 2 Joseph Priestnall marriages that I can see - both at Manchester Cathedral.  One may be his parents and the other is his son

7.10.1792 Joseph to Ann Langley

3.10.1852 Joseph to Jane Frances Leah

Where was Mary born?

Yeh I think the first marriage is that of his parents.  Really strange that I can't find his own marriage, I feel like I've looked everywhere....

Looks as though he was a widower by 1841 - incorrectly indexed as Pressnall on Ancestry

The 1825 Hannah must have died as they had another Hannah in 1835/6
