Hi,
I am wondering if Someone can help me with this one please.
I am searching for a birth reference for Friederiche Wilhelm Wellm. Born 1870, Bodenwinkel, East Prussia.
After a search I have found this is now in Poland near Gdańsk and that the Polish name of the town or village is Katy Rybackie.
I have found the Genetela and other sites for searching for Polish records but have not had any luck in finding him.
Indications I have are that his parents may have been Friederiche Wilhelm Wellingtonians and Wilhelmine Justine Gabriel with a number of further generations going back.
It would be good if possible to Comfirm this by finding some records.
Many thanks for all your help,
Keston.

Hi,
I am very sorry for the delay with my reply to your messages. I had not realised that I had received them.
Many thanks for this information. It has helped me to link the family back to Europe. The pictures of the model ship from the church at Steegen are particularly interesting. Based on what I can glean by looking now at other records on Ancestry, Friedriche Wilhelm Wellm (b. 1837), who was the father of the Friedriche Wilhelm Wellm (b. 1871), was a fisherman. Am I correct about this? I understand that this would be why he gifted the ship to the church possibly?
His son Friedriche born in 1871, emigrated to New Zealand, originally I think as crew on board a ship.
Many thanks for the work you have put into searching on this for me and sorry once again I have taken so long to reply,
Keston.

Hi Keston,
the text says he was a fisherman, but
looking at the childrens records I have found he is stated as being the following.
Birth Hermann 1868 / Einwohner – day worker
Marriage Hermann 1898 / Bauunternehmer – building contractor
Birth Friedrich Wilhelm 1871 / Einwohner – day worker
Marriage Friedrich Wilhelm 1867 / Einwohner – day worker
Birth Carl Otto 1873 / Einwohner – day worker
Marriage Carl Otto 1899 / Zimmerman – Carpenter
Birth Helene Auguste 1886 /
Death Helene Auguste 1888 / Einwohner – day worker
I have found numerous documents that may help.
Let me know exactly what you have (or don´t have) and i´ll see what i can dig up
Regards

Hi,
I am trying to make my way through this thread and will undoubtedly have a few questions. I'm doing some research on my wife's family on her fathers side Robin Wellm and because she has had little contact with him this has been quite a challenge. Anyone was really pleased to turn up this thread.
