Title: Sunderland (East) Henry St The Gresley Arms
Post by: Stalbridge on Thursday 13 February 20 09:59 GMT (UK)
On the 1911 Census, the publican  of The Gresley Arms (32 Henry St) is named as Ethel Bailey. Please can anyone tell me where Henry St (East) is or was? Is there any more information about the pub available?

The P.H. (Public House) shown on the map at the end of Henry Street East, is not the Gresley Arms, it is the Hendon Station Hotel. The Gresley Arms beer house, going by the street numbers, is the building at the end of the row just above the East in the street name. An advert in the Sunderland Daily Echo and Shipping Gazette 27 June 1912, for the sale, at £100, describes it as a corner property
