Would anybody know anything about Vicarage House in Mutford & Lothingland? On 1841 census it states the family are living in Vicarage House? Was this a workhouse?

If it was a WH there would be more than one family there and plenty of other residents as well

Vicarage House is the only building named at Kessingland in 1841 (HO 107/1030/3 folio 9 page 12). It was the home of clergyman George Norris and his family plus four female servants, but at least one of the main census subscription services appears to have misapplied that address to all the parishioners listed on subsequent pages.

The entire family (eight children from 16 years of age to 2 years) of my 3rd great grandfather James George Hammond is listed as living at Vicarage House in Mutford/Kessingland in the 1841 Census. My curiosity to see this house led me to this forum. I wonder where all these people lived? Maybe cottages on the grounds? Would love further light to be shed on the subject if anyone knows. Thanks, Robyn

The Hammond family were not at the Vicarage.
