Hi
Just on the offchance someone has access to this marriage - I would love the details!
Don't need anything else about this pair (have found out loads, trying to find some info that would rule them "in" or "out" as mine) but a fathers name from a marriage cert would help me know if it is "my" Benjamin or not!
Thanks

There’s a Harriet Rodgers marrying Alfred Selby on 6 May 1849 at Sheffield Parish Church (now the cathedral) her father was Thomas Rodgers cutter his father Alexander Selby scissorsmith. Neither bride or groom signed the register
A Benjamin Smith with father Joseph Smith marries on 20 May 1850 to an Ann Warriss at St Marie RC now the Catholic Cathedral. Ann’s father Thomas
No luck with a marriage to Harriet Wells Rodgers

Liz - have you tried the Sheffield Indexers site?
I haven't checked to see if what you want is there - (sorry) - but I know they have a lot of records on that site.

Hi all, from my searching, I think it is the baptisms for both Benjamin and Harriet Wells Rodgers that are causing the problem if MC is not purchased, or located on the PR?

Hi
Thanks to all for your interest, suggestions, and look ups.
Yes, I have tried Sheffield indexers but they don't have it.
I have the children's baptisms etc, their marriages and descendents, and the family on all censuses, and everything about them, thanks. That isn't the problem! None of it is relevant if it isn't the right Benjamin ....

Could well be. I'm not too bothered about Harriet W-R. I am descended from Benjamin's brother, Robert Smith, so my interest was in what happened to my Benjamin (which I now know WAS the one who married Harriet W-R) as I looked at the wider Smith line.
I've notified mods this is completed now.
Thanks to all for their interest and help.
