Hello Chatters
I haven't been on here for ages.
Does anyone have access please to the baptisms at Bilsthorpe between 12 Nov 1658 and Aug 1673? Either PRs or BTs would be useful. I've searched on every site I can think of and all I have seen are literally over a hundred guesses on various public trees for each of the people I'm seeking, all copied from one another with no sources or proof. Not good!!
The dates I'm missing are specific because I have the Notts FHS CDs and Bilsthorpe baptisms between those dates are not transcribed.
I need : - Edward TETHER / TEATHER, allegedly baptised in 1663, the son of Thomas and Ann (nee Gaskin)
Elizabeth HATHER baptised 14 Jan 1664 Bilsthorpe according to Family Search, the daughter of John HATHER and Elizabeth. I'd like to be sure that it is a fact before putting it on my tree.
Both of the above are my direct line.
Thanks for looking.

This isn't what you are after, but I thought it may be of interest if you don't already have the info
https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/results/r?_q=teather+and+bilsthorpe
I would love to see the seals

How interesting! Thank you very much for the information. IF I manage to get to Nottingham Archives at all this year I can look at the whole document. I wouldn't have found this without your input.
Stay safe.

The "National Index of Parish Registers" for Nottinghanshire, printed by the Society of Genealogists in 1988 says that for Bilsthorpe :
- the original registers have only a fragment for baptisms 1654-58 and then are missing until 1673
- the Bishop's transcripts around the times only exist for 1632-40, 1663-70 1675-80
Hope this helps

Ooh, I'll just have to hope the BTs are reasonably legible. It proves that the copied trees online are just that, one person guessed and the rest copied it.
