I downloaded this death certificate but cannot read mother's surname.
Can anyone read it?

That's  what i thought but can not find a marriage on SP or FS

If their daughter Laurie was born c1768 then you are into very patchy coverage for Scotland at the time of a likely marriage (and always bear in mind how many ways there were for Scots to be married, many of them of an informal nature).

I am trying to find the marriage of John Scott and Jeanie Hawson.
Their daughter Jean Scott b 1769 in Roxburghshire married Robert Lawrie ( Laurie ) 7 July 1792 in Carluke.
