I am chasing Harold Vincent Jackson b 28 Jan 1889 Manchester who was in the 1891 English Census (after his mum's marriage to James Wilson) Harold V Wilson. He was written as Vincent Wilson a guest at his mum's marriage to Alfred Rutherford in 1899 (Liverpool Echo 20 Apr 1899). After this.....nothing. I've tried nearly everything and no luck. His uncle (Edward Lockett b1871 Isle of Man) was a steward on liners travelling between New York and England so I though maybe he became a 12 yo cabin boy or similar and being under 21 didn't make it to any official list. Yes, I'm clutching at straws but BMDs, Passenger lists, Military lists etc throw up the name variations but none that I could claim as being he. His brother Eric James W Jackson died 13 Jan 1928 and his DC listed him as "Rutherford otherwise Jackson"
So:
Jackson, Harold Vincent or Harold or Vincent
Wilson, Harold Vincent or Harold or Vincent
Rutherford, Harold Vincent or Harold or Vincent
Any ideas? Anyone? Anywhere?
Thanks for reading

Thank you so very much for your interest and help.
The 1901 census detail you quote are my mob.
Funny thing is I was all over the Probate records to such an extent that I have 3 other rellies with their probate and wills handled by Laurence Edgar Rutherford, Vincent's cousin. I missed Vincent as a Wilson. I thought I'd tried every name combination as the subject title suggests - but no.
Thank you very, very much. You are a great help.

I want to fire up this thread again. I have found out so much more about the Rutherfords ( with a great deal of help from RootsChat users). Now with such an important family, comprising Mayors, politicians, oil producers (Romania) and war heroes etc. I expect that someone, somewhere has written a book or researched extensively, perhaps from within the family, the Rutherfords and descendants from c1950 and on. I have had so much help from the RootsChat family that I almost expect it now!! This is purely of FH and personal interest.
Over to you. Best wishes to all, Paul
