Title: Thomas Holmden
Post by: ceejayh on Wednesday 08 January 20 02:06 GMT (UK)
Have found a christening for a Thomas Holmden in 1792 at All Saints, Maidstone. His parents are noted as being Thomas and Elizabeth. This may tie in with Holmden births 1798, 1800 and 1803 to an Elizabeth Holmden in Seal - Charles, John and Susan Ellis but only Elizabeth is noted. Can anyone find a marriage for Thomas Holmden to Elizabeth and if any more baptisms between 1792 and 1798 please. The records online are sketchy!

There is a record in Seal which might be your Thomas (found on FreeReg):
Burial 4 January 1795 Seal: Thomas HOLMDEN age 50

This might relate to:
Baptism 3 Jan 1747/8 Woolwich (born 17 Dec 1747) Thomas HOLMNDEN, son of Thomas and Judith

I can't see a marriage on FamilySearch or FreeReg for Thomas and Elizabeth.

IF your Thomas was the man buried in 1795 and left Elizabeth as a widow it could account for the later baptisms where only Elizabeth is named.

Philip

Thank you Philip - that is worth me pursuing although the family in Dartford do seem to be a different line and so far most of the family I am looking for are in the Sevenoaks to Maidstone corridor. This may however be the link!  :)
