I am looking for a marriage between Grandparents however all searches are blank other than details of the marriage on his WW1 pension record.
On the pension record it lists his marriage date and the church along with his children at the time.
Why would he have all details on this record but no actual marriage records found? Could he be living in sin and fibbing to the army?
Thank you :)

Welcome to RootsChat. Would you like to give us the details, and perhaps we can help you in your search. :-\

Could he be living in sin and fibbing to the army?
Yes it's possible. Perhaps to get pension benefits as a married person rather than a single one.

He is William Kimberley born Nov 1880
It looks like he was discharged as soon as he joined
for not being likely to be efficient??
His wife is Selina Kimberley (Cross) and according to this record only they married in 1910 at St Andrews church Birchills a few months before their first child Selina Florence Kimberley
Not sure how much screenshot is allowed so I will try and upload individually

I lived 2 streets from the church ;D but not in 1910
always look for spelling problems if you can't find something.

It is always better if you type out the information. Generally we only upload parts of documents when they need deciphering.

The marriage is in Walsall 1910 as Silina.

You have my sympathy as I've just got over a stomach bug - started Christmas night :(
Birchills is an area of Walsall, not too far from J10 of M6.
St Andrew's is in Birchills St, by the canal.

Hi all and thank you for solving the mystery 🙂
Today I popped into Walsall Library who were also very helpful and they fiched (sic) out the parish record.
Thank you all 👍🏼
