John Bold & Margaret ? married 23 september
Thanks Brian

MELE?
-
It could be mede. The third letter is similar to the d at the end of bold and baptized. The letter l (ell) seems to slope the other way in this hand? I daresay there will be other suggestions too.
-
I wondered about the sloping of the letter in the middle too Bookbox. Although there doesn't seem any bottom curve for it to be a 'd'.
A highlighted image - not that I think it makes it any easier!
Added: Did you see there seem to be another couple of 'Bold' names on your extract okkool?
One half way down - 'margaret bould' baptised, and near the top 'John bold' (probably), or maybe 'bould'. In this second one, the scribe seems to have written over the top with a backward sloping 'l'?
-
Melia ? The one underneath looks like Magill , not positive which one I'm looking at ;D
-
It had occurred to me the first letter could be a "w" as the letter forms of weddings and married and margaret all seem similar. The last letter also has a distinct end flourish that sweeps up to the dot(where the pen stayed too long) significant hmm.
a-l the word magill is actually "married" they had missed writing the last name and had to insert it above in lighter script. The queried line is the one above it.
I have tried to look +- 40 years in the register for the name mele or mede with no possible results
