Title: Ireland
Post by: Anisa on Friday 13 December 19 17:29 GMT (UK)
Hi folks, I’m new to this forum but am looking for some help, I’m doing my family tree, I’m now on my paternal grandfathers side, Iv found him born in Glasgow (illegitimate), Iv found his mother born in Glasgow, his grandparents and great grandparents all born in Ireland, his grandmother born in Londonderry. Anybody any advice on how to access NI record, any points in the right direction would be much appreciated. TIA

An idea of dates would help also their religion.

You can search BMD on Irish Genealogy https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/
and also PRONI https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/proni
Census and other records here https://genealogy.nationalarchives.ie/

There are other sources but it would be easier to say with dates etc.

Difficult to know if the people you are looking for in Ireland were born before civil registration (1864) but have a look at these 2 topics then let us know what details you already have and what you are trying to find.

Note: although both topics are several years old and more resources have become available online they will give you an idea of what might be available.
