hi
Trying to locate my grandmother returning from Canada between 1912-1918
Her name would have been Mary Miller ms Johnson
She may have returned around Feb 1914 as according to a rellie my uncle was born either on board a vessel or in canada although I have been unable to trace him
If anyone can shed some light on this or any possibilaties I would really appreciate it
Her husband was Ernest Charles Miller and what a surprise her son was Ernest Charles Miller
Her husband was apperently killed during the war at sea however I have been unable to trace this
Fingers crossed in hope

Hi!
I thought I'd mention this as there may be a connection to the family you are
looking for.
The national archives website (www.nationalarchives.gov.uk) has details of medal
cards from the First World War and there is one for an Ernest Charles Miller, who
was a Company Quarter Master Sergeant with the Canadian Infantry. His regiment
no was 629936.
Hope it helps!

Hi Jean,
I have PM'd you on the Great War Forum in response to this search. I don't think that the Ernest Charles Miller in the Canadian Forces is your guy, but there may be some other possibilities. More details in my PM.

Hello Jean: Heres another possibility:
Miller Ernest Charles William
Coldstream Guards 1st Bat.
Age 21
Died...29/10/1914 # 8959
Parents: William Henry & Sarah Jane Miller
29 Winton Street...Alfriston,Sussex
This information was taken from the CWGC casualty lists from WW1. The only one listed with that name. If it is your Ernest, the address of parents may be a lead.Good Luck.
