Jack Roger Alexander Kinsam Weldon
b abt 1905. Some researchers have the town of Young, New South Wales listed as place of birth.
( It is said he had two families one in NSW and one in Qld.) The Qld family I am aware of.
d 30/10/1986 reg#1986/57837
Father listed as James Weldon
Mother listed as Jean Bell
no image available to download from the QLDBDM site and would need to order a paper copy.
( alternative date 3 Nov 1986- taken from the find a grave site)
Have searched for other children of the couple but no luck there either.
Also tried Campbell as opposed to bell and dropped the p.
Looked at the NSWBDM as well as the QldBDM records.
I also wonder if the man in question may have connections with another Weldon family I have been looking at with ties in India.
Alexander Weldon b 1807, Dublin, Ireland and d 1842 Kabul,Afghanistan
married
Ann Welsh b 1800 d 1842
issue:
1.Mary Ann Weldon b 1828 Bengal, India d 1828 Bengal India
2.Henry Alexander Weldon b 28 Oct 1828, Ghazeepore, India d 30 May 1869, Taabinga, Kingaroy, Queensland, Australia
3.Mary Ann Weldon b 7 Feb 1831, Cawnpore, East Indies
4.William Weldon b 22 Aug 1832, Cawnpore, India d 1890, Glenfern Hotel, Kilkoy, Queensland, Australia
5.Rosemond Weldon b 1835 Bengal Parish Fort William, India d 22 May 1899 Military Cemetery of Fort William Bengal in the Archdeaconary Diocese of Calcutta
Many Thanks for any forthcoming suggestions on moving forward with my enquiry

The date differences will most likely be that one is death date and the other burial date, as it does say ‘laid to rest 3 Nov’:
1986 57837 Jack Roger Alexander Weldon parents James Weldon and Jean Bell
https://billiongraves.com/grave/Jack-Roger-Alexander-Weldon/18869191
It is said he had two families one in NSW and one in Qld.
What do you mean by the above?

I don’t think James and Jean, who may be Jane, Bell were married.
A news report states that James assaulted a Mrs Rahman in YOUNG. He states he was ‘living with her sister’, when she died. 2nd column: http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article248198288
Mrs Raham was a BELL:
5704/1905 RAHMAN Abdul to BELL Elizabeth at YOUNG
9754/1903 AH CHONG Peter to BELL Jane at YOUNG
His marriage may provide information on his folks: 1933 C986 Jack Weldon to Jean Cheeks
Death: 1968 B98992 Jean Mary Weldon parents Samuel Cheeks and Eva Jones
Death of children:
1946 C1366 Betty Anne Weldon parents Jack Roger Kinsam and Jean Cheeks
1972 B33106 Alan Gordon Weldon parents Jack Roger Kinsam Weldon and Jean Cheeks

I wonder if this is him, given that John and Jack are interchangeable and there is an Ellen BELL who dies in 1907:
9786/1906 BELL John Alexander mother Ellen YOUNG
16435/1907 BELL Ellen father WILLIAM
Death: 15426/1952 RAHMAN Elizabeth 86 YRS MARRICKVILLE

I don’t know how you prove it.
His marriage cert is the place to start, as it is he who will have provided the information on it.
If his mother did die not long after his birth, he was raised by someone. Wonder if his father married a JEAN.
Do you know where his father died?

I’ve looked at the marriages in YOUNG, and have fit them to two lots of parents.
Some have parents William Thomas and Mary Ann BELL from CARCOAR, and the others James and Elizabeth from PICTON.
Still hunting for births for Ellen and Elizabeth.

that was the conclusion I was trying to explore, however still cant seem to find a way to connect any of them, the only one I seem to keep drawing back to is the earlier one from this morning mentioned from the trove report as this has James Weldon in Young.
But no proof it is him. ::)

Hi, not sure if I can be of any help but my wife (Sandra Weldon) is related to Alexander Weldon who was killed at the Last Stand in Afghanistan/India. They are Weldon's from Queensland.

Hi Gino
its been a while since I looked at the Weldon family and after reviewing the conversations I noted your input and information regarding the Weldons.
I would like to explore this further if your wife or yourself could help me out please.
Further to this I have a note actually from a very early researcher regarding Rose Weldon marrying in Qld at either Roma or Taroom. Would appreciate info on this as well if you could assist.
Thank You
Jill
