Hi,
Apologies as I'm new to this site as well as new to researching family history!
I have been researching my family history in the Bradford area and have found ancestors going back as follows:
Arthur Broscombe born 1892
Albert Broscombe 1870
Jeremiah Broscombe 1832
John Broscombe 1808
I haven't so far been able to go back further than John to find his parents, I was wondering if anybody could help with this? From my research it is likely his partner is Betty Broscombe born around 1808 also.
I was also wondering if anybody has any advice on how to make this more personal e.g. with interesting facts / pictures of ancestors? Although I appreciate it is probably difficult!
I am looking to produce this as a gift for the family so anything advice to add more personal facts would be brilliant! I have had a start been looking through newspapers
Thanks for any help!

Welcome :)
Here they are in the 1851 census, revealing John’s birthplace:
2 High St, Bradford
John Broscombe 43 stone miner born Cleckheaton
Betty do wife 43 Bradford
Joseph do son 21 Bradford
Jeremiah do son 18 Bradford
William do son 16 Bradford
Sarah do daur 11 Bradford
Nancy do daur 8 Bradford
Betty do daur 3 Bradford
John do grandson 3 Bradford
-
In search of Betty’s maiden name - looking at children’s birth registrations on GRO Online:
Nancy BROSCOM, mother’s maiden name ACKROYD, Mar qtr 1843 Bradford
Betty BROSCOM, mother’s maiden name ACKROYD, Dec qtr 1847 Bradford
-
1841 census: Blackabby, Bradford
John Briscomb (looks like) 30 Mason
Betty do 35
Jonas do 10 Woolcomber
Joseph do 10
Jeremiah 5
William do 5
Sarah do 1
Be aware that in the 1841 census people’s ages were meant to be rounded down (for those over 15) to the nearest 5. This enumerator seems to have done it for children too.

Re “padding”
There are a number of birth and death announcements in the newspapers
Eg
28 July 1853 - Bradford Observer - Bradford, Yorkshire, England
Newspapers can be seen on FindMyPast or Britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk
