Title: Parish church Northampton
Post by: grouse on Tuesday 19 November 19 08:34 GMT (UK)
If a couple married in 'the parish church of St Edmunds' in 1955 what church would this be?
I read that the ecclesiastical district of St Edmund's was formed from that of St Giles so would it be St Giles church or All Saints?

That would have been St Edmund’s Church at the junction of St Edmund’s St and Wellingborough Rd. Created 1846, closed 1978, now demolished.

Thanks for your fast reply!
No wonder I couldn't find it mentioned anywhere

Cheers
