Very poor quality photo of my Aunt and Uncle - they lived in Barcelona - Kathleen was born in 1929 but tragically died of meningitis in April 1936 and is buried in Montjuic - my Uncle Paco returned to Ireland with his parents in July 1936 having been evacuated on the HMS Gallant when the safety of ex-pats could no longer be guaranteed by Cable & Wireless where my Grandfather worked. My grandparents never got to visit Kathleen's grave again but my mother visited it again in 1958 and latterly with my father in 1996.
This heart wrenching photo show the children at a 'fiesta' possibly around 1934.
The clothing on the adult to the right is like the traditional clothing worn in the Basque region during San Fermin - Kathleen seems to be holding flat cakes on a tray bedecked with ribbons.
Any restoration would be appreciated as would any clue as to what or where this Fiesta may have been!

Lovely restores, got the faces which is the main thing. Googled Spanish fiestas and cakes on a tray, and epiphany cakes was suggested. It looks sunny for 6th January Barcelona, but one never knows. Could be Easter.

Many thanks for all who took the time to work on this one.
Love the suggestions about the Epiphany and/ or Easter.....even taking the suggestion re. Catalan weather in January...the Epiphany was a huge thing with my grandparents....but they always referred to it as that ' the Epiphany' even given the fact my grandfather was a native of Waterville where 'Nollaig na mBan' (women's Little Christmas') was an important day!!!
