Does anyone have any information about Jane Duffet, widow, who died aged 82 on 12 April 1801 and was buried at St. Hilda's, South Shields, on 13 April?
The person I'm researching was born Jane Marshall in 1719 at Helperthorpe in the East Riding.
A woman of this name married a William Duffett there in 1747. They seem to have lived in Crambe in the North Riding. So far I've found no reason why she would be in South Shields in 1801.
I'd be very grateful for any help at all with this.
Many thanks.

Did they have any children? She could have been with family.

That was my first thought, but what I've come up with so far has been inconclusive. I assumed she was likely to be living with a married daughter, but I've drawn a blank there. Ditto the possibility she was with a son who'd moved from Yorkshire.
I'll cover the ground again, but as she's not a direct ancestor, I've no leads working backwards.
Thank you for the suggestion.
