I would like to find the resting place & definite date of death for Leonard in possibly the Brisbane area. I've checked the Ryerson Index, Billion Graves, Findagrave, Trove & ancestry without any luck. I've contacted the owner of the tree on ancestry but again no luck. This chap was born in NZ in 1948, the death date given as 29/30 January 2003, any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

Hi,
Have you tried looking for a death or funeral announcement in the Brisbane papers at the State Library for the week at end of Jan and beginning of Feb 2003 .. there is the Ask the Librarian option at Qld state library's website.
Alternatively, you would likely know which of your own living relatives also is/are related to him and you could ask them to help you search for him.
Are you sure that the submitted tree is for your chap? Plenty of people his age and a generation older are still alive and alert .... some are members here at RChat. Many a false lead on submitted trees.

Refer here for NZ Army record which records DOB and DOD plus 2 photographs:

As anyone can request the service records of deceased former service personnel, whether it is for a research project, your family history or your personal interest, contact NZ Army and request copy (fee-free, see below) as it may record where he died:

Hi majm,
Thank you for your suggestion - he didn't show on the Ryerson Index so didn't think about any other newspaper for the area, so will try the library.
