Title: Doyle death shows previous marriage?
Post by: Harper 7 on Sunday 13 October 19 11:35 BST (UK)
Hi Everyone and thanks for your help

I have come across a death certificate for my great gpas second wife and Im wondering if it shows she was married previously and if so if anyone can read the name. It looks like ? clark to me but im not sure.  If it helps she was originally from Ireland.  Im looking at the last entry on the page for Elizabeth Cowie.  It says married to William Cowie and then it says something under that.  I also havent been able to figure out where she is actually buried if anyone might give me somewhere to start with that.  I know her sister is at the Western Necropolis but pretty sure she isnt there.

Thanks!

Good point.   On the marriage cert it says she is a spinster...so I guess that is the answer.   ::)

Hi Harper, If Elizabeth lived in Bearsden, there's a fair chance she will be buried in New Kilpatrick cemetery. There is a Facebook page for the cemetery.

Nothing showing here for her www.memento-mori.co.uk/106.pdf but there may not be a surviving stone and burial register would need to be checked.
