Hi
i am looking for any help in obtaining the movements of
Richard Powning born 1817 Cornwall
Married Jane Grose 1840 Isle of Man
Jane was born Cornwall 1814
There daughter Elizabeth Jane who became known as Lisa was born isle of man 1844
I have found Richard and Jane in 1841 in the isle of man. Richard in Kent as visitor in 1851. He died Genoa Italy in 1861.
Jane is living with daughter and husband in 1871, 1881. In Chester, Elizabeth married Francis Francis in Chester in 2870.

Could anyone possibly help with the passager listings timing and even the ladies missing census which I believe they would have been in Italy
Thank u in advance Fiona

There are very few passenger lists for travel between UK and Europe.
The UK Board of Trade didn't keep any from before 1890.
In any case, they may have traveled overland?

Since Genoa was a major commercial port it seems most likely that he/they travelled by sea from London.
I note that the 1851census has RP as a mechanical engineer visiting John Adams, a civil engineer, whose residence was West India Docks. I think there is a connection here with employment maybe. Check out Wikipedia.
Perhaps SRN was a professional notation, Society of ?? Google not that helpful unfortunately.
