Trying to find marriage details etc for Muriel Gladys Palmer born Hartley Witney in 1929. Father was unknown. Any help appreciated.

Have you found her on the 1939 National Register?

As that was updated by the NHS until the early 1990's, any married surname is likely to be against her name.
Alternatively, what was her mother's name? Maybe she was known by her stepfather's name?

Not seeing any likely marriage on FreeBMD.

No obvious marriage to 1967.  Have you considered her mother may have married and dtr then took her mothers married name?

Was she possibly adopted?

If you have her exact birthdate you could search deaths using her christian name

Could she be Muriel Gladys Breedon born 8/2/1929 died 1992  :-\

There are other Palmer/Palmer births in the same district Sep 1930 and Sep 1931 in case they are related to Muriel.

The male PALMER birth also seems to have an alternate birth as STRONG,I think. :-\

Yes - my sister was born 1929 and celebrated her 90th last month

Just found that Muriel Gladys Palmer was adopted but by whom is unknown. She was born on the 9th January 1929 at Moorside, Chapel Lane, Hawley, Farnborough in Hampshire. Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

Until we know for certain that this person is deceased we cannot give info about her.

Suggest you use her birthdate to search the 1939 register.  You also need to consider that her christian names may have been changed after adoption and she may have lived somewhere other than Hampshire

She will only appear on the 1939 if she is deceased as she was too young for an entry when the register was taken

If you can’t find her in 1939 then you need to search for a death with that birthdate

Your problem will be determining the right entry.  As she was adopted - she won’t have married as Palmer.  There is a Gladys Muriel Hicks death in 2006 Bedfordshire b 9.1.1929 but nothing for a Muriel Gladys
