Greetings from South Africa! I know that this is a long shot, but I am looking for a wife for William Joseph (1711-1790). Her name is Ann - but that is all we have. All his children were christened at St James, Westminster - so I am assuming that he would have married there. His son, Francis Joseph (b 1751) is my 4th gr-grandfather. I also have a son, William and a daughter Catherine for William - both of whom are uncorroborated and without dates. There is a record for a marriage between William Joseph and Ann Godden at St Mary Newington but that was in 1781.
My vagueness will probably preclude me from getting any results - but it's worth a try.
[Name: Francis Joseph
Gender: Male
Christening Age: 0
Birth Date: 7 Jun 1751
Christening Date: 16 Jun 1751
Christening Place: Westminster, London, England
Father: William Joseph
Mother: Ann Joseph

Thank you so much. I saw that marriage on Ancestry and had checked out the possibility of Hannah being Ann. What confused me slightly was the 'Chairman of the ??' It looks as though it could be 'Weave?' I shall research that.
Thanks again.

'Chairman' is his occupation, St James at Westminster the parish he is living in.
ADDED Where does his date of birth / death come from

Thanks so much. I do not have documented evidence of his birth in 1711. I think I unwisely made the assumption based on every ANC tree connected to Francis Joseph (1751) for whom I do have baptismal docs. There is a William Joseph born in Passenham Northamptonshire who was born in 1711. I didn't add that record to my tree - but have it in file 13!!
I have, today, found a William Joseph marrying Ann Beall in 1707 - so he could well have been my William's father. No corroboration yet. Come to think of it, he could have been Francis' father ( so 44 years old when my Francis is born in 1751) Am rambling now .... Shall investigate further.
Again - thanks for your help.
