Hi everyone
I wonder if anyone can help me with this brickwall. From several census, I know that my 3 x great grandmother was born around 1830 in Nottingham. Her marriage certificate states that her father's name was Thomas Ward.
I know quite a bit about her life after she married in Liverpool, but I can't find any record of her birth or her parents. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't been able to find a Mary Ann Ward born in Nottingham with father Thomas. The closest I can see is
Mary Ann Ward baptised 13 September 1828 mother Mary, abode Woolpack Lane.

Paula -- have you found her in 1841 or 1851 please? I can't immediately see her in Nottinghamshire then - but of course the family may have moved.

Hi
Thanks emeltom. I'll take a closer look at that - maybe her father wasn't Thomas at all - I've come across false fathers names before, so that could be misleading me.
Thanks for looking Pennines. I've searched through the 1841 census several times over the years and can't find her. The first record I have of her is in 1849 when she married in Liverpool. I have found her on every census after that until she died in 1894. On each census she gives her birthplace as Nottingham, but of course this could be wrong.

Who did Mary Ann WARD marry......when....where....what church.........are witnesses named?
What names.......birthdates and places do you have for her children.

Do you have the marriage cert?
(Guessing Thomas HAND and Mary Ann WARD marriage 1849?)
In another post you said that her father's name was Thomas (from an index?).
