A number of my ancestors moved from the area to Normanton in the 1870s-80s. They were all coal miners and might well have known the family :)
What was their address in Normanton?

Edward's first marriage was 6 July 1896 at St Thomas, Penycae, he was 21, a brickmaker, residence Acrefair, father Ben, pudler. His wife Elizabeth Owen was 20, residence Rhos, father Joseph, collier, both signed, witnesses John Lloyd and Sarah Roberts.

Just to clarify, there's another Benjamin Bowen, just a few years younger, also married to a Mary and living in Cefn. He;s a shopkeeper/grocer

The marriage that Osprey found has Benjamin as a puddler. The Edward that I found in 1881 had his father(Benjamin) listed as a labourer.
