Title: Hutchinson of Ballymena

Hi, I am trying to find some information of the HUTCHINSON family of Ballymena.Co. Antrim.  I have got to Andrew and Jane (Miller)  and hit a dead end.  As my husband, (Hutchinson descendant) and I are heading to Belfast in Aug 2020 I am trying to collect as much information on this early part of  the family as I can. I do have the family tree back to their son Andrew Hutchinson B1791 Ballymena (bootmaker) and his wife Esther (McNeice or McNiece) B1802 Ballymena, they emigrated to Australia on the Garrow arriving in  1839. with their 7 children.  I am really hoping to find "cemetery" records, if possible, for Andrew and Jane etc, so we can visit.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. I do have a RootsIreland and MyHeritage account but have not been able to find anything. Thanks.  Cheryl H

Most of the legible gravestone transcriptions for cemeteries in the Ballymena area are on this site, save for the Old Cemetery in Ballymena which are published in a booklet and I can tell you there are no Hutchinsons listed there.

You won’t find any burial records for the 1700s or most of the 1800s. (The gravediggers were probably mostly illiterate and so written records weren’t much use to them).

Hi Cheryl,
I am sorry I was not able to see your post in 2019. Yes I am the relative now living in Queensland. My grandfather Nathaniel was the son of Henry who came to Australia with the Andrew Hutchinson family in 1839.
It would be good to make contact now in May 2022
