If you only have a full address can you find the family that was living there on the night of the census
-
Yes just put name of street in
e.g Main not 'Main Street'
-
That's fine for the Irish census, but if the address is in England or Wales I always use TheGenealogist.
Tilly, where did your people live in 1911?

It can be tricky with unusual addresses (21a Lower Lane Back Street off Kings Road or something along those lines).
Could you give us an address?

29 Bentinck Rd Nottingham and 1 Queens Drive Nottingham
-
First one is a HAYNES family.
Second one isn't coming up. Could you check please; is it definitely in Nottingham?

1 Queens Drive Nottingham is an address on a birth certificate in 1933. Where the Haynes family affluent to have domestics
-
1 Queens Drive (I know it's years away) in 1945 seems to have been a Hostel for Unmarried Mothers.
(from newspaper ad Nottingham Evening Post May 5, 1945)

Thanks Maureen :)
I'm not sure Queens Drive existed in 1911. It's not showing in any earlier census either.
Meanwhile, the HAYNES family didn't have any 'live-in help'.

That’s very interesting about Queens Drive as on birth certificate in 1933 the child was illegitimate, so must have been house for unmarried mothers then.
By chance was 29 Lamcote Grove Nottingham a hostel for unmarried mothers as well
Thanks everyone for your input

29 Lamcote Grove has the Thompson family living in it.
-
Thanks for the info
-
Do you believe the family should be at Queens Drive as early as the 1911 census? What surname are you hoping to connect to?
-
Just to add in 1911 Queens Drive was called Queens Walk
-
In 1911 census 1 Queens Walk later known as Queens Drive had a Alcock family living there
