 april 17th 1848 francis lee married sarah Williams at st phillips Birmingham ,fathers john lee and Thomas Williams , one of the witnesses  was phoebe lee. at time of  marriage francis was living at bridge street  Birmingham but I cannot find   the family on the 1841 census or the 1851. any help please.

The groom was Thomas Lee according to the GRO index

If you are descended from one of their children - please give full details of that child as it can help to trace on later censuses.

Have you looked for them in 1861?

The marriage entry on Ancestry does show him as Francis but has been mistranscibed as marriage cert shows Thomas and yes - he was a clockmaker

I have been interested in Phoebe Lee for a long time and have suspected that she might have been living as man and wife with my 4 x great grandfather William Gilbert (a clockmaker).  In 1851 William (widower) is the head of the household and Phoebe is a servant.  In 1861 she is his housekeeper.
I can't find them in 1841 either, but William's two children William junior and Martha (I have only found two) were born in Handsworth, so they may have been in Staffordshire.

JOHN Lees christened 26 DEC 1805 Sutton Coldfield, Warwick to JOHN/ELIZABETH
