Hi all.. I would love to hear from anyone that's traced the Kirk
name from Nottinghamshire.. Arnold more specifically, I believe a Samuel Kirk was born in about 1847 to a Cornelius Kirk...

Hello, welcome to RC.
There are 3 baptisms listed at St Mary, Arnold, for children of Cornelius and Amelia Kirk:
9 Sept 1843 Samuel
29 Aug 1847 James and Eliza.
One in Gedling for Cornelius and Emilia:
Henry 21 Nov 1852 (abode Carlton)
Cornelius listed as FWK (framework knitter) for all.
Several more children at Oxton to a Cornelius Kirk and Elizabeth between 1826 - 1836 - could this be a previous marriage? Or a different family altogether?
There are 3 marriages that could fit with these births:
1. Cornelius Kirk + Eizabeth Glover, Oxton, 16 May 1826
2. CK +Amelia Wibberley, at Sneinton, 27 Dec 1840
3. CK + Amelia Aslin, at Gedling, 8 Aug 1844
Possible deaths that might be part of this puzzle:
Elizabeth Kirk age 31, Oxton, 4 Feb 1837
Emily Kirk age 62, Gedling, (abode Carlton), 30 Nov 1877
No baptism on my Notts disc for Cornelius. Was he born in the county?

I've found Cornelius - spelled differently - bapt in Oxton, 17 July 1806 parents William and Hannah. There were 7 other children bapt in Oxton to this couple.
