Have you got his birth certificate?
Wallenstein Marchant December 1881 Lambeth Vol 1d Page 560
Fathers name would narrow it down, found a "Willie" Marchant born 1881, hes in Lambeth at the time of the 1901 census. Could that be the one?

Also on the 1901 census there's a Wallace Marchant, age 20, born Lambeth & is
a 'Private' at the Royal Marines Barracks in Alverstoke, Hampshire.

Hi Catherine, Thanks so much. I do have his birth certificate, his father's name is Whiting. Ultimately what I am trying to do is trace Wallenstein's (b. 1881) daughter, Nina (maybe nickname) I know the family lived in Norwood and yes, Sue, thank you so much, you have the right family on the 1891. Just to complicate matters Nina's brother was also a Wallenstein. I feel I'm so close to finding her. Also, the military records are extremely relevant cos Wallenstein doesn't show on the 1901 as far as I can see. That is very helpful and I'm excited about that one. Thank you. ;D Any ideas on the best way to obtain military records. Sorry, folks, new to this. By the way, I think this site is amazing. I've spent months trawling the internet and was recommended this site - priceless. Just hope I can help people too one day.......

Hi Petunia,
When was Wallenstein married? Any idea what year Nina was?
Could try looking for her in the GRO Index.

Hi Sue,
Wallenstein married Mary Elizabeth Satterley on Aug 6th 1905. I have their marriage certificate. I'm assuming Nina was born after their son, Wallenstein in July 1906. I've had a few red herrings where I've thought I've found her but can't find out if Nina was her real name. No living relatives to find out. I guess Wallenstein senior's death certificate might help to see if a will was made and maybe her name mentioned but I have no idea when he died either. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for your help and interest too, Sue. :)
