Is it possible to confirm that Barbara Liddle was born Port Laoise, Laois Ireland c1946, she died 2007 Lewisham London. as Barbara Smyth.
kind regards, Kitman

She married in Camberwell 1963 as Barbara A Liddle & death entry shows her as Barbara Ann
She had at least 3 children born 1965-1968 and possibly a 4th b 1981.
Can’t you ask her children where she was born?

I have done CaroleW, ALL THEY KNOW IS BORN IRELAND

The years covered by the release of the historic Indexes to the Civil Records of Births, Marriages and Deaths are:

No need to shout (use of capitals). ;D'
If her children only know she was b Ireland - why specifically has Port Laoise been selected as her possible birthplace?
-
There are two Liddle births in Ireland from 1940 to 1950
both Dublin North, both male, mother's maiden name Gwynn.
You can find them on FamilySearch no sign of Barbara
https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/1408347
Could she have been born in Northern Ireland?
-
Would that pick up variations such as Liddel?
or even LIDL :D
-
I only tried L*e, there was a Barbara Little but the mother's maiden name was different.
Tried just Barbara and mother maiden name Gwynn but no joy.
That only makes sense if the mother's maiden name is Gwynn which of course in might not be...……...

Must try it sometime using Wildcards!

with reference to the Liddle/Gwynn family they appear to have been in N I after the war and possibly moving about the country with his job on the railway

I can see a very basic family tree on Ancestry which says that it was Owen who was born in Port Laoise and Barbara was born in London. Then again they say that Owen was born in 1949 which is ridiculous if he was married in 1963.
Is this Owen's death?
Owen SMYTH
Age: 61
Birth Date: 28 Jul 1938
Registration Date: Jul 1999
Registration district: Lewisham
Register Number: D42A
District and Subdistrict: 2421D
Entry Number: 249
If so then this may be a birth registration. I think it is intended to indicate born in 1938 and registered in 1945. It appears that four of their children were registered in 1945 with birth years of 1937, 1939, 1942 and 1945.

Possibly linked to this marriage in 1937.

You definitely need that 1963 marriage cert.
