For a proposed memorial unveiled 8th Febr 2020 I trying to track down the family of a Leicester warhero F/Lt Gerard Stansfield Johnson. He was the Son of Arthur and Emily Mary Johnson ,of Leicester. F/Lt G.S.Johnson was the Bombaimer of a Lancaster crew of Lancaster ND961 who took part in a raid on Ladbergen(Dortmund Ems canal) on 8th Febr 1945. Over Holland ND961 collided with Lancaster PB181 and both crashed which took the lives of total 15 crewmembers among them G.Johnson. Sadly I have no further info about his birthplace and/or date.
Regards,
Adrian van Zantvoort

Many Thanks Ray for all your trouble and contribution which is fantastic!!! I haven't access to Anc but I am gratefull that you left a message to the thread. Sad to hear that his twinbrother Bryan died in 2017, his Wife in 1997 and their only son in 2000. What a tragedy. Hopefully you have luck to get in touch with a familymember or close relative or distant.
Cheers,

Hi all, I dealt with the death of Bryan Walker Johnson, twin brother of Gerard Stansfield Johnson and I am still dealing with the remaining family. I have visited Gerard’s grave with Bryan as friend and organiser of a military veterans tour. Professional genealogists have had to be used to find members of the family. I originally found 2 second cousins in Scotland. My computer is being upgraded at the moment I should have it back before the end of the week. Can the original poster of this thread Private message me please

Hello trudyjouxson, and welcome to RC. As above, you'll need to make at least 3 posts before you can send or receive PMs. They don't need to be profound!

Hello trudyjouxson, Welcome on Rootschat and I the one who is/was after F/Lt Johnson's information about my research to the loss and fate of a Lancaster bomber shotdown and crashed between Son and Best 8 February 1945. This year we have had erected a memorial in honour of this crew. I am delighted to tell you more about it and what I have found out(also Thanks to Terry).

Adrian
