Given that the price of wills had gone down to £1.50, I ordered a couple.
This was on 23rd July, estimated delivery date was 7th August.
It’s now 9th August and no sign of them. I emailed this morning but no reply as yet.
Have any other rootschatters experienced a delay since the price reduction? I am wondering if they are snowed under with requests.
-
I should have also received some UK wills today but no sign of them. Maybe they are overwhelmed with all the requests. I certainly wouldn't have ordered them had they not reduced the price.
-
I ordered 32 on the 26th July. The first batch arrived on the 28th and the next batch on the 31st. There are now only 6 outstanding and they are showing an estimated delivery date 10th August, so I have been pleased with how quickly they are turning round orders.
-
I ordered 4 on the 25th July...estimated delivery today...1 received 31st July still waiting for the others
-
Ordered some on the 27th, none arrived so far.
-
Ordered mine on the 24th , estimated delivery yesterday, no sign of any and have emailed them.
-
Ordered 9 on the 22 July and have received them all, the first ones arriving on the 30th July and the last on the 6th Aug. I for one have no complaints.

Same here!
I ordered 3 wills on 24th July. Two arrived on 29th July. Still waiting for the last one due yesterday.

I ordered 2 wills on 23rd July with an estimated delivery date of 7th August- one arrived today, still waiting for the other. I ordered 3 more this afternoon and got an estimated delivery date of 24th August. I guess they have been overwhelmed.

My order is overdue as well. :-\
Hopefully they will arrive eventually!

I have held off ordering any, I guessed they would be snowed under, so thought it better to wait awhile.
It is said that patience is a virtue, so I hope it pays off. ;D
-
I ordered 6 on the 29th of July, and the two more recent ones, after 2000, arrived within a week, but I'm still waiting for four older ones.

3 ordered 24th, due the 8th, zero so far.
I wasn't worried but I'm glad you posted this because I now I can see why they might be snowed under.
-
Still nothing, and no response to my email either :(
-
I'm still waiting for 2 ordered on the 24th July (due by 8th August) ...
-
The will I received more or less straight away was the one after 2000 - wonder if the older wills are taking more time for some reason...although one other is from 1980's.
-
Me too!
Mine were due on the 8th. Looks as if they are snowed under. If we are just a sample of the numbers ordered since the price reduction they could have a huge backlog.

I'm also waiting. Ordered 4 wills on 24th July with an estimated delivery date of 8th August, but nothing received so far. I guessed they were probably snowed under, but did wonder if my order had somehow been overlooked. I emailed them yesterday morning but no response as yet.

My guess would be that all recent wills get digitised (scanned) automatically when they are deposited, so copies can be sent out almost immediately. Older ones are being retrieved from store and scanned as/when an order is received.

Still nothing, and no response to my email either :(
I have emailed twice, there is supposed to be a two day response time if the query pertains to orders, but I have had no response.
As others have said ,I think the fact that the lower price was put on sites like this, has given them lots to do.
-
If it helps, i was due four on 7th and four on the 10th August, and one arrived on the 12th. It was from 1958. Still waiting for the other seven.

Mine were a mixture of years, but none received ,first one 1915, last one 1961, so I don’t think dates have anything to do with this delay.
I am more annoyed that they have ignored my query twice.
-
Mine turned up yesterday. They were from 1923.

They still haven’t answered my email. I suppose now my wills have arrived, they think they won’t have to.

How many did you order? I’ve still only had one back so far.

Just two

I ordered three on 22 July - 1908, 1925, 1965. Estimated delivery: 6 August but arrived early on 30 & 31 July.
Ordered four on 23 July - 1926, 1937, 1949, 1952. Estimated delivery: 7 August but still waiting for all four.
In view of the reduced cost I am very happy to wait.
-
I don't know what's worse ... waiting for dna results or waiting for wills.
I'm still waiting for wills estimated 9th and 11th August ...I realise they have been inundated with orders and taking away weekends the time from the 9th til today is really only 6 working days but it seems like forever!
Is anyone still waiting for their order who's estimated date is before mine?
-
I ordered a will on the 7th August and it was delivered literally a few minutes ago.

I'm still waiting for the 4 wills that I ordered on 24 July, due 8th August. I did however have a reply to my email today which confirmed that they are experiencing a very high demand for wills, and apologising for the delay and frustration caused.
-
I think its a case of the usual (from govt sponsored site) case of they utterly underestimated the interest that would be generated.
A bit like when they released the intitial site for the 1911 census - which promptly fell over as the hits overwhelmed the server.
It will calm down, the wills will all be delivered and in a month or so's time it will be fine and delivery will be within the expected time frame.
Until then its grit your teeth and bear it :)

Durhamgirl,
I am waiting for 5 due on the 8th. I'm just hoping that when they do arrive they will clear up a few mysteries. It will be so disappointing if they don't throw up something new after the wait.

The last of three wills originally ordered on 24th July and having an estimated delivery date of 8th August was e-mailed last night, 19th August.

Well mine were ordered 24th July and still nothing.I did get replies to my enquiries eventually and they said there was an unprecedented demand for the wills and apologised. I am not in a huge hurry for them, but when everyone else seems to be getting them on here it is a bit frustrating I suppose.
-
Perhaps we have ourselves to blame for the delays :-\ With the drop in price many more of us decided to "go ahead". I know that I have ordered more than I would have had the price remained at £10.00. :)

That is why I have refrained from ordering any yet, as per my post on page two, it was obvious there would be a mad rush resulting in delays.

I wouldn’t have ordered any of my 5 for £10 but £1.50 was worth it. Ordered on 8th, one received on 14th, rest say estimated for 23rd.
-
I ordered three wills on the 27th July, with an estimated delivery of 11th August. Today I received an apology for the delay due to the high demand that they were experiencing.
Can't understand why I'm still waiting ???
-
Well, I finally got one of mine tonight and it was worth the wait, just hope the others follow along shortly.
-
I'm still waiting for mine from the 27 July ??? have emailed them a few times but nothing yet.
-
Just a thought - perhaps if we stopped pestering them, then perhaps they would have the time to get on with deliveries! ;D ;D
Let's face it, we all ordered more at a cost of £1.50 than we would have at £10.00 each ;)
We're victims of our own actions. :-*

Because they will deal with the requests in the order received? and given that they probably (unexpectedly, from their point of view) received gozillions at the same time, those of us who haven't yet received our 'bargain basement' order just have to be patient a while longer :-)

I saw an article in a newspaper today about how we all are becoming impatient nowadays as we are used to ordering things on the internet and getting them quickly. Just think how long we would have waited years ago when we only had snail mail.
-
Ordered 2 on 31 August (NZ time ) due 15 September. Will wait patiently for them to arrive.
I am guessing due date is computer generated, so will not know how busy they really are.

Well said.
Their other options would be to close applications for a couple of weeks until they catch up with current requests, or not allow people to order more than say 4 wills at a time. Both of those ideas would cause complaints as well.
-
I still have one outstanding that I ordered on 24th July, estimated delivery 8th August, just have to keep waiting and hope it turns up eventually.
-
No need to stop taking orders or restrict the number. All they need to do is provide more realistic estimates of delivery dates.
-
Where there's a will... there's a queue.
I've started ordering copies of wills of people who haven't died yet.
