I’ve been considering taking a DNA test for some years now, but keep coming up against a problem of location.
I live in Italy but my roots are in the UK. I can’t find any company that will sell to me, despite being bombarded with offers from Ancestry & Find My Past! I could get the kit delivered to a relative’s address in the UK, but they also want me to pay using a UK bank account or credit card, which I don’t have.
Has anyone else come up against this or have any ideas? I’m interested in taking a test to maybe throw some light on a few brick walls I have in my tree.

I have tested 3 people in Italy with AncestryDNA, but I bought the kits in England and took them with me on holiday.
The bank account has to be consistent with the country you order from. Do you have a relative in the UK who you could trust to place the order for you if you paid the money into their account?

I forgot to say that you will also have to post the return kit from the country you order it in as the return postage is prepaid.

Thank you - yes I think I’ll have to try this way

I live in Cyprus and have done a DNA test via 23andMe. The package was couriered to me and I sent it back via the courier. The p & p was of course in with the price so no extra charges.

Thanks - I’ll check this out :)

I have dozens of Italian matches on MyHeritage, might be worth checking there too.

Thanks. I’m not particularly looking for Italian matches because as far as I know my ethnicity is Scottish/English as far back as I have been able to go. Although you never know - maybe a DNA test will prove me wrong :) but I’ll check this out, thanks!
