Hi.
I have an interest in the children of Patrick Quigley and Catherine Gleeson who came to Australia in the 1880's.
These being Julia, Lawrence, James, John, Bridget, Andrew and Mary. Would be interested in swapping notes with any descendants of this family.
Ken.

Hi.
As far as I know the parents remained in Ireland.. of the 7 children, 3 have not yet been found as to their final resting place.... may have returned to Ireland ?
Ken.
-
Can you please add dates for the children as well as any other info. e.g. marriages/deaths with dates/places to help others save duplicating what you already have?
"of the 7 children, 3 have not yet been found as to their final resting place"
Can you tell us which 3 along with when/where last heard of?
Can you also tell us if the info. from Dathai on Reply #1 was helpful?

I would like to prove that
To be honest, you don't give much in the way of info. to enable people to help you as your input so far has been very basic, offering very little e.g...
"James Quigley b-1864.. last seen Lismore, NSW .. 1903."
You don't state anything about him, who he was with, his occupation / any previous occ. or anything else known about him.
In order to find people it's important to give as much info. as is known to you.
If he did go back to Ireland, his known or previous occ. may help to locate him in the 1911 census?
Annie
-
Hi Annie...
We know little about him, he was a farmer last time I found him.. what job he took up on arriving in Ireland is anybodys guess...and was apparently single.
We do know however who his parents were, date and place of birth, siblings..

I cannot find Catherine Kate Quigley's marriage certificate to Denis Gleeson but I believe she married in 1886/87. According to to 1911 Census Denis was 52 years of age & Catherine was 62. She was born in 1851.
The had 5 daughters and on the Census Winnifred was 24 Katie 21 & Mary 17.
Also on the 1911 Census two of their daughters were living with their Aunt Margaret Maloney at 60 Barrack St. Nenagh. Margaret was 20 and May was 18. Margaret Maloney's brother James was there also aged 45.

Wow thank you so much for this information. It is brilliant. I think another sister married a Minogue from Kilruane Cloughjordan and anither one to a Ryan (Weaver nick name) in Templederry Nenagh but have no idea when or if it was Catherine Gleeson's sisters married these people. My mother RIP and all my relations at my mothers side have passed so trying to piece things i was told as a child.
Thanks again

I am not sure but sounds right. In 1911 census there is no mention of a Bridget but she could have been working and living elsewhere. Again thank you very much for this information. As i said I have no one to ask.
