Hi
I can trace Samuel Blower back to 1871, when he was living in Walton Road, Moseley Hole, Wednesfield RG10/2949/35/86/45/243 with:
Jane wife age 24
Harriet age 8
samuel age 3
Henry age 3 months (All born Wolverhampton)
He is sometimes listed in census as born in Bilston and sometimes Wolverhampton. His date of birth varies 1843 - 1846.
I can't find a marriage or trace the birth/christening of any the children. There are several possible Samuels in the 1861 census. I think I have narrowed in down to 2.
RG9/2009/folio 146b page 15
RG9/2003/ folio 100 page 4
I am stuck ???! can anyone suggest where I might go from here? All help appreciated.

Hi
thanks Donna Henry looks promising, I could get his mother's maiden name from the birth certificate.
In the 1871 census I found a Samuel Blower born Wednesbury 1845. He is marrried and living in Derbyshire. This is not my Samuel, but in 1861 there are two possible Samuels. One is born in 1845 in Kings Hill Jas and the other has a date of 1841 which seems a bit too early for my Samuel but is still a possibility.
Is Kings Hill Jas near Wednesbury?

Hurray! ;D
I think you have solved my mystery. The Samuel Blower who is listed as born 1841 in the 1861 census is a stone miner. (like father like son?). if I treat the 1841 DOB with a pinch of salt and take his age as 16/17 then the census info all follows on almost perfectly.
I have no idea where the other samuel Blower came from but Ithink I can safely forget about him now.
;D ;D ;D ;D
