Looking for descendants of my uncle, Michael (Mick)Francis McNamara, and his first wife, Eileen Ruddy.
M. Ballina Cathedral 1941
I think they had four children;
Two boys
R b.1941
J b.1942
And two girls
M b.1947
J b.1950
I believe Eileen died around 1961. Mick died in Luton, England in 1975 but is buried in Limerick.
Any help finding my cousins is greatly appreciated.
Vince

Eileen's death notice says English, American and Scottish papers please copy, so there must be family in each place. No names just deeply regretted by her mother and family.
Leigue cemetery.

http://goldenlangan.com/graves-le.html. See number 3126
This seems likely to be Eileen - buried in her family grave -Ruddy
The date is transcribed as 1960 but looks like 1961
-
Mother Margaret's death notice the same as Eileen's, no names and English, American and Scottish papers please copy.

I agree 23 Aug as per Cert

The headstone clearly wasn't put up until some time after the mother died so it's quite possible they got the year incorrect for Eileen.
-
Just a transcription error.
-
Same transcription error on Find a Grave so, you would need to touch the numbers on the stone to be sure
-
David checked and has rectified the mistranscription.
-
Many thanks to everyone for their efforts so far - it is really appreciated.
I have copies of the marriage and death certs for Eileen but this is the first time I've seen the headstone so that's helpful.
I still can't find any links to the children who would have of course been McNamara. I've tried LDS/Ancestry/Find My Past but apart from confirming that Mick and Eileen had four children there is nothing more. Any suggestions?

In first post you say you believe Eileen died around 1961... If you had Cert, better to say so. Saves people using time looking for what you already had.
What other stuff do you have?
-
Hi, just to clarify my first post - I'm looking for descendants of Mick and Eileen. Only info I have is that there four of them, two boys;
R b.1941
J b.1942
And two girls
M b.1947
J b.1950
Given their ages some may have passed on and/or have been married but I can't find anything.
-
They are too recent for online records, which is why I went looking for death notices as they sometimes give info on children, but no joy this time.
-
Thanks Sinann.
Immensely grateful to you for trying.
-
You need someone local to the area, if it was my area I'd say contact the village diary and local people would see it and help out if they could, I have a guy calling in to me next month who I was able to help in this way but I don't know the area you are searching so have no idea who you could make contact with or if there is any online site you could contact to help you out.
Perhaps you could ask here

You say that Michael remarried.
Was there family contact with him after that that you could check.
Is there an obituary or newspaper announcement for him which might mention his children?
Do you know if the children stayed in Ballina or moved with their father?
-
I'm in close touch with Michael's second family but they are as much in the dark as I am.
There doesn't appear to have been any contact following separation and the children stayed with their mother although 'R', the eldest of Michael's and Eileen's children, apparently attended Michael's funeral held in Limerick in 1975.
Good idea to check obituaries; I didn't stop to think that his Ballina family might have posted something so I'll follow that path and see where it gets me.

I have sent you a PM
