Possibly a mistake in the 1871 census as Hannah's mother is recorded as "Elizabeth" but she seems to be recorded as "Hannah" in 1881 and the daughter Mary is with her and a son William aged 7, born Richmond. Hannah (mother) is working as a charwoman and states that she is married but William (the father) is not shown with her and she is nominated head of the household. The nephew John, 38, is with her as well as a niece, Mary Brown.

Thank You Judith for the information about Hannah
I found this Obit for Michael Fitzpatrick in the Catholic Press

Michael had two brothers also in Toowoomba

I cannot see a marriage for Hannah's parents William and Hannah but I may have missed it (I searched 1864 - 1871) There is quite an age difference between the parents (some 15 years if the census ages in 1871 are correct) and because their eldest child, Hannah is 4 in 1871 (b abt 1867) and William had been married before perhaps they were not legally married.
Baptism in East Moulsey, which is the place given as his birthplace in 1871:
At the parish church (spelt as East Molesey)
March 15, 1818
William Robert Osborn WINCH, parents: John (farmer), Catherine living in the parish
I think this is him - we have him in 1871, living in Petersham, aged 53, shown as father of Hannah but with a wife named as Elizabeth and occupation as 'barge carter'
Going backwards, and the age, and birthplace match, possibly coal selling from a barge
1861, address "foot of the hill"
William Winch 43, coal merchant, married, b East Moulsey
Elizabeth Winch 41, wife, married, b Caversham Oxfodshire
John Winch 17, nephew, no occupation given, b Middlesex
1851, address just given as Petersham
William Winch 33, barge horse master employing 3 men, b East Molesy
Charlotte Winch 29, wife b Oxfordshire
John Winch 7, nephew, b Middlesex
There is a death for an Elizabeth WINCH, registered Richmond (which includes district of Petersham) June qr 1864, which would fit with Hannah being born to William and Hannah in 1866.
This looks like William in 1841, at Gardeners Cottage, Bute House, Petersham
William Winch 20, coal merchant - born in county
Elizabeth Winch 15, not born in county
No relationships shown in 1841 so no idea if they were married. Ages in 1841 are rounded which accounts for the apparent discrepancy.
If you are interested I can look further for William's parents. I suspect the "Charlotte' wife in 1851 is a mistake for Elizabeth but maybe it's just another mystery!

Hi,
At the parish church (spelt as East Molesey)
March 15, 1818
William Robert Osborn WINCH, parents: John (farmer), Catherine living in the parish
Never come upon this before but the above was buried the same day at the same place??
John

John - I saw that burial also but I suspect it has been entered in the burial register by mistake. It is possible that there was another William WINCH born in East Molesley in 1818, but it seems unlikely. Unfortunately I can see no image for that burial record.
Freereg has a couple of siblings for William with parents John and Catherine WINCH, baptised at the parish church East Molesey.
Ann Osborn WINCH, b 3 March 1806, baptised 13 July 1806
Catherine WINCH, b 29 Feb 1808, baptised 17 Mar 1808
John Osborn WINCH, b 21 August 1809, baptised 25 December 1809
Pallot's Marriage index has this marriage marked Acton, Middlesex
Catherine OSBORN = John WINCH (parish of Shipperton, Middlesex)
and from London, England, Church of England Marriages and Banns, 1754-1932
At St Mary's Ealing 1 August, 1806
John WINCH, bachelor of Shepperton, (could be Shipperton)
Catherine OSBORN,spinster of the parish, by licence,
Witnesses: Thos Collett, Mary COLLETT - all signed except for Mary COLLETT
Unfortunately no record of occupation or of parent names in 1805.
This baptism at East Molesey
Catherine OSBORN, b 24 Oct 1778, baptised 15 Nov 1778
Father: James Osborn
Mother: Eliz.

Thank You Andy Scott for the information of inscription for Elizabeth Winch. Much appreciated. It is hard to tell who Hannah's mother is maybe she didn't know herself but William does seem to be her father.
