Title: Locating a grave or details of cremation
Post by: NoughtyDoughty85 on Sunday 07 July 19 17:24 BST (UK)
Hello there, I need help with a pesky Doughty member of my tree please. I cannot find his burial or even if he was cremated and I am hoping if someone can perhaps help. Ive search deceased online, church records etc and nothing  ::) His details are George Hawson (has been transcribed several ways) Doughty B- Jan 1859 Chorlton and his probate states death 18 March 1920 at 8 Rushton Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Ive searched nearby churches etc and just about to search perhaps Chorlton records. His wife died in Cheshire in the 1940s so I will also try that avenue too. Maybe a family plot etc. Can anyone help its driving me mad  ;D Thanks

hi,local newspapers usually have death notices in them.If your local library has them on microfiche you could search around the death date. The notice would usually state where a person was to be buried or cremated.
