Title: Burial lookup please, Welford Rd
Post by: alisontoon on Tuesday 16 August 05 22:24 BST (UK)
Hi,

Is there any way of finding exactly where in Welford Rd. Cemetary someone is buried (i.e., other than Thomas Cook etc.)  I would like to ask one of my sisters to go and try to find the grave and take a photo.

I'm looking for the grave of John Bonnett North aka John Bonnett. He was buried in Welford Road Cemetery in December, 1863, in consecrated ground. In the burial index and on his second marriage certificate his name includes the "North", on all other documents, it is just John Bonnett.

Any pointers to the right area or plot would be most welcome!

Thank you :-)

Alison

" Your very Welcome..."

If your sister has trouble in locating the plot..
Then just in side the main gate there is an office of
" The Friends of Welford Road "
Who may be able to help your sister .....

MIKE.

UPDATE

I see that they are undergoing a restoration at the moment
So best if you get your sister to ring the Cemeteries Office
to check if it's open to the public during this work  :-
